Alternating polishing method is a general term for the entire polishing process that alternates several polishing processes with each other. It is commonly used in multi-component alloys and polishing operations with high requirements for multi-component alloys and polishing surface roughness in the process. For example, when electropolishing an alloy part, sometimes a covering layer that seriously hinders the continuation of electropolishing is formed on the surface of the part, but it has not yet reached the process requirements for polishing surface roughness. This requires adding a mechanical polishing layer in the middle of the electropolishing process, removing the overlay formed during the electropolishing process in time, and then performing the electropolishing. This alternating process of "electropolishing-mechanical polishing-electropolishing" is an example of the alternating polishing process.
Alternating polishing method can be alternated once or multiple times. It is not limited to alternating between two polishing processes, if necessary, a variety of polishing processes can be used alternately for polishing until the roughness of the polished surface meets the process requirements.
