Stainless steel polishing is the most common in metal polishing, and the polishing effect request is vary. If you want to reach fine polishing effect, at least have good quality polishing machine, polishing wheels and polishing wax etc. But the polishing process is the most important for the fine polishing effect, the polishing process depended on the roughness before products polishing (such as mechanical treatment, electric spark treatment, grind treatment, casting treatment and so on).
Generally, there are 3 steps: rough grinding, medium polishing and fine finishing.
Rough grinding: Usually use sanding wheel or abrasive belt for grinding, according to the roughness of products to choose abrasive grits. If you want to achieve fine polishing, the gap between abrasive grits less is better (like P40, P60, P80, P100 etc.), and the lines after grinding will be more uniform and finer.
Medium polishing: Generally use sisal grinding wheel, coarse cloth polishing wheel and polishing wax (help polishing, improve cutting force and cooling the products surface) to polish. But still need to custom the polishing consumables according to the required polishing effect and polishing machines.
Fine finishing: Fine polishing usually use cotton polishing wheel and fine polishing wax. The finer lines of the cotton polishing wheel is the better, as it can reach the better mirror polishing effect. A minor change will make a large influence for the polishing effect, so you should choose the abrasive tools according to the final polishing effect request and the polishing machine.
